The redfish and speckled trout anglers at Redfish University have been treated to some of the best inshore fishing the Gulf Coast has to offer. Every morning from 5am to 10am, we have been finding huge numbers of quality speckled trout in the 2-4# range with some reaching the 6# mark. We are targeting large schools of mullet with Sebile Bongas in white and chartreuse to produce the biggest numbers of speckled trout. As the sun rises, we will switch to Sebile Stick Shadds and Gulp! Jerkshads to clean up the rest. We have been finding our redfish in a number of locations as well as getting in some really solid sight fishing in shallow water. Targeting our redfish with topwater Sebiles and a wide variety Gulp! products depending upon the location and application. Covering productive water, cleverly selecting your artificial baits along with properly and intelligently demonstrating superior techniques will always produce greater numbers of fish than sitting with live bait. Always and every time at Redfish University. Thanks, E...

I love my hobby. It’s been a wonderful stretch of excellent trips over the past week at Redfish University. Fishing every morning from 500am-1000am with experienced and new anglers alike Most mornings begin at 500am and the action continues straight through 1000am. A typical morning consists of 40-60 quality speckled trout, 5-15 redfish and few bonus flounder in the mix, all on artificial baits. Anglers are kindly taking appropriate numbers of fish for dinner and we’re releasing the rest to be caught by Redfish University clients in the future. Thanks again, E...

Here’s a recent group of great fishing, sailing, diving, lounging and general chaos photos from Ambergris Caye a few weeks ago. Good times with some great friends and anglers. I couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate a birthday. The bonefish, permit and tarpon were on fire and a big thanks to my favorite guide in the world, George Bradley. The lobster and conchs were plentiful and thank you to Genie Matura, Randy and Roberto. And finally, the birthday sailboat day to Caye Caulker and beyond was epic. Big thanks to our private captain, crew and private chef, Capt. Luis, Genie, Martin and Jose. Enjoy the photos. Cheers, E...

It’s been an incredible week of redfish and speckled trout trips at Redfish University. Some of the best bass anglers in the country have called Redfish University their saltwater home and we’ve been treating these talented anglers to some phenomenal inshore saltwater action. Pretty simple trips really, as these guys just need to be around redfish and trout… no problem at Redfish U. We’re concentrating on less pressured areas in pretty remote locations to secure huge numbers of both species. It’s great not to see another boat, or guide boats, all morning long as these much less experienced, tourist charters are still holding on to their limited speciality, Pensacola Pass fishing. This makes hiding much easier:). The early morning topwater action has been absolutely incredible with both large trout and redfish more than willing to pound our topwater Sebiles. We’re also getting in some bonus sight fishing opportunities with our more experienced anglers and the redfish have been extremely cooperative to say the least. A combination of Gulp! Shrimp, Jerkshads, Sand Eels and even some 2″ Crabs rigged properly will draw a fish with a well-placed cast. For more cloudy and wind-driven banks, a Johnson 1/4oz Gold Spoon is the best choice. Taking this run through late week and into Saturday, but taking the rest of the holiday weekend off to enjoy to time off from my favorite hobby. Cheers and thanks again, E...

Just returned from Belize and we’re picking up where we left off at Redfish University with some outstanding catches of redfish and speckled trout here in Pensacola. Starting at 500am to take advantage of a crazy topwater bite with the redfish and trout. Tossing Sebile Bongas into large schools of mullet to produce numerous speckled trout in the 15-22″ range and redfish from 23-30″. Off the banks on low tide and right on the banks at high. Later in the morning we switch to Gulp! 5″ Jerkshads to take even more quality redfish and larger speckled trout. Just finished a packed week of awesome trips and taking the weekend off. Back at it everyday next week! Thanks again, E....
