When you’re looking for a fishing guide, fishing charter or the absolute best in angling instruction in Pensacola, Florida, Redfish University is the only place to be. Today and yesterday’s trips focused on inshore angling instruction as well as pure fish catching fun. Both mornings we started with small topwater Sebile Bongas, switching to Stickshadds then to Gulp! Jerkshads. Both mornings yielded 30-40 quality speckled trout, 6-12 redfish in the 20-28″ range and a few flounder. Lots of fish in very few places but most of the quality fish continue to come from the southern flats in the bays. Small fish to the north, at least for now. Finished with a nice stretch of great Redfish University inshore fishing trips and off for some travel fun/business time until Friday. Back at it hard with some very packed weeks until year’s end. We make it 225 trips this year!! Thank you to all the Redfish University anglers and please continue to smartly vet your fishing guides in Pensacola, Florida. E...

Pensacola Fishing Charters and Guide trips at Redfish University continue to be amazing with solid catches of speckled trout, redfish, bull redfish and flounder. While Thursday’s trip was rescheduled due to weather, Friday and Saturday’s Redfish University instructional trips were performed under less than optimal conditions but found what we were looking for. Contrary to popular belief and other fishing reports, the bull redfish have arrived in Pensacola, Florida, you just need to know where to look. Friday’s instructional lesson concentrated on speckled trout early and then we ran to the bull redfish grounds to take plenty of big redfish in the 15-20# range. Today, our group wanted to learn some excellent areas and techniques to consistently produce large numbers of speckled trout and redfish in the late Fall and Winter. We encountered a nice surprise at the ramp this morning as a very nice father and son duo from Crestview that fished at Redfish University last December was preparing to launch as well. These guys were treated to one of the hottest redfish, trout and flounder bites Redfish U had ever seen. Again, most of the quality speckled trout and redfish are still far south and haven’t made their way north as of yet. Research your potential fishing guides in Pensacola! We found nearly all of our speckled trout and redfish to the south although we picked up plenty to the north and the fellas will now know where they will be in big numbers very soon. Each day, the anglers kept a few fish for that night’s dinner and the rest were...

Redfish University is the place for Pensacola fishing charters and instructional excellence. The last few days have been outstanding with really nice catches of redfish, speckled trout, flounder, bull redfish and even stripers. We’ve been sticky with the same late Summer tactics in the lower bays to produce all species on a wide range of Sebile, Gulp! and Johnson baits. Limits of speckled trout are coming very easily and the redfish will naturally get better shortly. Anglers continue to move in mass numbers to secure a seat at Redfish University for the best angling instruction available and we are poised to celebrate our biggest year to date as we rapidly approach the 200 trip milestone for the year. Not bad considering 150 was the goal! Thanks again to all the Redfish University anglers and see everyone very soon. Don’t forget to thoroughly research your fishing guides! E...
Read MorePensacola bull redfish are here!! Redfish University-October 10, 2012
They’re not here in huge numbers yet but if you know where to look, large schools of Pensacola’s bull redfish can be found in some shallow water areas. Today’s trip was a combo instructional/fish catching session with some newly-placed local anglers that have heard so much about Redfish University from the thousands of locals that have attended classes at Redfish U. over the last several years. We started the morning with the regular topwater Sebile Bongas and Stickshadds and had a blast with some very nice quality speckled trout and some redfish in the 22-26″ range. As the sun rose, I thought maybe, just maybe, we could find some larger redfish for our anglers on some shallow flats that have been historically productive with the Pensacola bull redfish in the Fall. We approached our flats and immediately saw “floaters” sunning and looking for some Sebile Bongas. We strategically sat on two schools of 30-35″ redfish for nearly an hour and picked off several with topwaters, Gulp! 4″ Shrimp and even dropped a fly on one. Frankly, these fish are VERY easy to catch and anything in your tackle bag will work. It’s just a bonus service here at Redfish University. All fish released and another extremely pleased group of anglers at Redfish University. The same tomorrow. Thanks, E...
