Guided Mr. Phil Gambrel and his son, Paul, this morning. Got on the water at 530am and started with the topwaters for some redfish and trout action. Lots of action but very few hookups as many redfish were dropped but we did score some decent speckled trout. It was amazing how many redfish came unbuttoned! Ended up switching to Johnson 1/4oz. Gold Spoons and started catching fish. When the tide and wind died, so did the fishing. It was a real struggle in the late morning with many, many redfish in the vicinity but very few interested although we did catch a few blindcasting. All in all, a difficult late morning. All fish taken on Skitterwalks early and spoons late.
