Pensacola Inshore Fishing Guides at Redfish University-October 5-9, 2012

This morning’s Redfish University inshore session focused again on late Fall and Winter fishing in the Pensacola, Florida area. While most of quality redfish and speckled trout will remain to the south for now, we started the morning in historically productive areas where our clients will find huge success in the coming months. Again, we found plenty of small-medium sized speckled trout along with some medium redfish although we did connect with some quality and even larger redfish on Sebile Bongas first thing in the morning. After our thorough educational tour of these areas and after demonstrating the vast knowledge and much sought after experience that only comes from Redfish University, the new anglers were treated to some better quality redfish, trout and flounder in areas that are absolutely infested with these species at the moment. We kept some fish for dinner and the rest were released properly. Like yesterday, the gents were treated to bonus coverage in the form of GoogleEarth maps of highly productive locations where they can target some easily caught bull redfish in the next few months. The extra mile, the extra value and the Redfish University reputation makes the choice simple for anglers who know better, deserve better and require the best in angling education and unparalleled instruction in Pensacola, Florida. We will take the next few days off for travel time and return bright and early Monday morning with another packed week of instructional and guided trips at Redfish University. Take care, E Holstman-Professor at Redfish University Great fishing, awesome instruction and awkward comedy at Redfish U!- October 8-9, 2012 Back to a very busy schedule at RU! We’re back from a great weekend in Destin for 2012 Fudpuckers volleyball, great friends and fabulous restaurants. Yesterday’s RU trip was met by high north winds and quickly falling water so we had to make some clever adjustments and target subtle temperature, water clarity and depth breaks. We found the speckled trout to be no trouble at all but the redfish were another story although we managed a few and took a quality fish for dinner. Threw Berkley Gulp! Jerkshads most of the afternoon and...

Early and often to the instructional excellence of Redfish University-Oct. 3, 2012

Redfish University is guiding anglers to redfish/speckled trout and performing educational inshore classes whenever it wants. We are very fortunate to have such a dedicated, loyal and elite following but our incredible success and reputation will surprise very few. This morning, Redfish University performed another instructional, techniques and productive areas educational guide trip for local anglers. Many anglers have jumped the gun on Redfish University’s extremely busy Fall and Winter redfish/speckled trout/flounder/striper/bull redfish guided and instructional trips. It’s a good thing because bookings in late October through the end of December are quickly being taken especially optimal tide days which are available on a first come, first serve basis. Those are gone through year’s end!! Since there’s only one Professor, only one Redfish University and one qualified educational fishing operation in Pensacola, Florida, space will be very limited; unless of course we accommodate the masses during the afternoons as well. Our anglers this morning wanted to learn a few areas south and then spend most of our time concentrating on the areas where our redfish/speckled trout/flounder/stripers will be during the Winter months. We even showed them on GoogleEarth Maps where they will be able to find the mindless schools of larger redfish down in Pensacola Bay and the Pass as well as some really fun areas to catch them shallow. That instruction is simple, throw at them and you will catch them.:) Throw anything, however far you’d like, with your eyes closed and eat a sandwich. As predicted and stated in our previous report, the quality of fish remains very poor in our Winter areas until the water temperatures drop significantly. Plenty of small trout and small redfish, but rest assured, they will come. A catch and release trip today and have no idea how many we caught. Another instructional trip tomorrow and Friday and thinking about doing a few over the weekend. Thanks again, E...

The masses cometh for Pensacola, Florida’s #1 choice for inshore fishing instruction and big numbers of redfish/trout/flounder at Redfish University-October 1-2, 2012

It’s great to be Redfish University! We’re back from a superb weekend in South Beach, Miami and The Professor is back in the classroom, our 2012 Pathfinder 2300 HPS. Upon our return, Redfish University was greeted by a plethora of local anglers ready to learn the secrets, techniques and the vast inshore fishing knowledge that so many anglers have taken advantage of over the years here at Redfish University. We can’t stress enough the importance of carefully vetting your inshore fishing guides. Researching your guide’s biographical information, credentials, testimonials and overall angling experience will insure that you will find optimal value in your fishing trip and, most importantly, that you’ve made the best possible choice in that particular location, especially when it comes to inshore fishing instruction. We want anglers to return to the Pensacola area for many years to come. The last two days have been unbelievable in both angling education and pure fish-catching at Redfish University. We’re still finding great numbers of redfish and speckled trout in the lower and mid-bay areas. Contrary to other less knowledgeable reports, our redfish and speckled trout populations are indeed beginning their transitional stage(I stress “beginning”), but many of the larger speckled trout and most of the redfish will remain south until a significant cold front drives these better quality fish northward. There’s some valuable free advice to local anglers and other charter fishers. That is not to say that there aren’t some of both species near the large and small rivers in the area but many/most of these fish are below the size limits and are mostly unacceptable to Redfish University clients. We’ll stay with the Redfish University instructional trips for the remainder of the week and next with a few regular guided redfish and speckled trout trip in between for the bass fishing tourists. Thanks, E Holstman- Professor at Redfish...

Redfish University awesome Fall trips-Sept. 22, 23 and 24, 2012

The last three days of Redfish University trip have been outstanding. Catching lots of speckled trout and redfish early and then pulling on some bigger fish for the last few hours. The redfish and trout have been very predictable and have pounced on Sebile topwaters and suspending baits as well as the Gulp! Jerkshads. For the large jacks, we’ve been tossing large Sebile Bongos and we’ve been extremely impressed with the durability of the Sebiles and the strength of the hooks. A few trips ended with the jumping sharks that can be caught on ladyfish, 100# mono and a circle hook. Really fun for the young anglers at Redfish University. At it all week at Redfish University and looking forward to ending on Friday and then getting out of town! Thanks, E...
