Read MoreBusy as can be at Redfish University
Pensacola Fishing Charters at Redfish University. Sorry for lack of reports. We’re as busy as we can possibly be here at Redfish University. Bass Pro Shops, Skeeter Experience seminars, regional boatshows, speaking appearances and, of course, a full slate of instructional and fish-catching trips at Redfish University. It’s nice charging a full charter rate per seminar and the number of Redfish University trips booked during these events is astonishing. Finding plenty of speckled trout, redfish and bull redfish here in Pensacola. For clients looking to sight fish the larger redfish in shallow clear water, we’ve found great success on some very productive flats. The key is to arrive early to surprise them before the more inexperienced guides and anglers arrive and spread them out. For the legal redfish and speckled trout, no problem on the flats in Pensacola Bay and we’re even starting to see some topwater action. Had a great time yesterday as we had a Penn/Berkley photo shoot for the new Pro Staff Pure Fishing websites. I had the rare opportunity to sight fish a few large ones myself. I wish it was that easy for my clients sometimes! Poor redfish, that didn’t know what hit them! Thanks again, E Holstman...

Pensacola Fishing Charters at Redfish University. The biggest Winter ever at Redfish University!! Returned from a week of skiing, snowboarding, dog sledding, outdoor spas and Canadian beer in Mont Tremblant, Quebec on Tuesday luckily and was greeted by three trips in two days. The redfish and speckled trout were on the slow side but the larger redfish have been cooperating nicely. Taking the weekend off and then six trips in five days next week followed by a weekend of The Skeeter Experience seminars in Biloxi, MS. Receiving a new “sled” every ten months is nice!! Lots of reports next week!! Thanks, E Holstman ...

Pensacola Fishing Charters at Redfish University. We’re making progress here at Redfish University with some local anglers still on the waiting list. We’ve had to postpone today’s, Tuesday’s and Wednesday’s Redfish University trips due to bad weather and snow which will add to the delay but we’ll try to recover later in the week and early next week before departuring for a little skiing adventure up in Mont Tremblant Quebec. This is a fantastic time of year for Redfish University. While most fishing guides in our area will be somewhat busy in the Spring and Summer due to high tourist volume, high Google placement and Redfish University’s packed schedule, in the Winter, Redfish University’s accessibility and high demand allow us to perform three to five, and sometimes more, trips per week with many being instructional trips with local anglers. We’re so pleased and humbled that so many travelling and local anglers have made the best choice for their instructional fishing trips. We’re finding plenty of redfish, speckled trout and bull redfish over the past week with some days better than others but steady action nonetheless. Mostly afternoons but some mornings have produced well for anglers that need to fish mornings. Lastly, Redfish University anglers will be thrilled with the huge shipment of new 2014 Penn Conquers, Conflicts and Battles as well as the Penn Regiment inshore rods. And don’t forget about the miles of Spiderwire Ultracast Invisi-Braid and the truckloads of Berkley Gulp! and Berkley Havoc for your angling pleasure. See everyone soon and thanks again. Read MorePlaying catch up at Redfish University
Pensacola Fishing Charters at Redfish University. With all the weather that one would expect in January in Northwest Florida, Redfish University has been in catch up mode for the last few weeks. Extreme cold, high winds and rain has made it very difficult to accommodate our local and traveling Redfish University instructional anglers. After postponing three trips last week, this week was filled with scheduling conflict and anglers on standby at a moment’s notice. We performed four Redfish University instructional trips this week with some very patient anglers and will do the same next week with some waiting anglers and already scheduled clients. We’ve even been pairing a few anglers together on instructional trips at my recommendation and their request which has really worked nicely and they can share the cost of these incredibly informative and successful trips. Finding lots of redfish and speckled trout in all sizes in very few locations right now. Thankfully, experience, knowledge and time on the water will take us directly to the fish. Thank you to all our regular monthly clients, regulars and new clients for your patience and grace during this period of scheduling struggle. We will get all of you in during the coming weeks!! See ya soon. Christmas also comes every January at Redfish University and it’s time to order all our new 2014 Pure Fishing(Penn, Abu Garcia, Berkley, Spiderwire, etc) product for the 2014 Redfish University season. With over 200 trips per year, these products are very well used and never fail! Looking forward to the new Penn Conquers, Conflicts, Battles, Penn Regiment rods, miles of Spiderwire Ultracast and, of course, the truck load of Berkley Gulp! Our clients will again be very happy with the best brands in the saltwater industry at Redfish University. Thank you again for choosing Redfish University, the Gulf Coast’s only qualified instructional fishing guide service, for all your fishing needs....
