Pensacola Fishing Charters at Redfish University. Last week was a fantastic week of fishing at Redfish University with many new clients choosing Redfish University for their fishing-catching and instructional needs. The speckled trout and redfish have come alive in the southern bays and huge catches of both species can be expected here at Redfish University. Sebile Bonga Minnows, Berkley Gulp! 5″ Jerkshads and Berkley Havoc Grass Pigs have done a number on these very aggressive fish. Most fish were released while some hit the cooler for dinner that evening. Took today off but another nice run of trips Tuesday-Friday of this week and most of May is full. We still have a handful of days available in late April and May so don’t delay. Thank you again to all the new clients and the huge number of repeat clients alike that have made this Spring fishing season the best yet! Take care, E...

Pensacola Fishing Charters at Redfish University. The extremely busy Spring season here at Redfish University has continued even after Spring Break 2013 and our masses of redfish and speckled trout anglers are being treated to some excellent action with both species. An added bonus has been our ability to send the sheepshead and bull redfish bottom fishing charters to a few great local guides in exchange for some anglers specifically requesting artificial only services focusing on shallow redfish and speckled trout. This has worked out beautifully with some excellent local captains including Brant Peacher, Justin Hinote and Brad King. Back to the action. Each morning and late afternoon we are finding increased activity with topwater baits, like the Sebile Bonga Minnow, which is an excellent sign that both species are now aggressively looking for food. As always, the Berkley Gulp! 5″ Jerkshads in camo and the Berkley Havoc Grass Pigs are both outstanding choices. A bunch of catch and release trips which is nice and a few redfish and speckled trout hit the cooler for cookouts. We will take today off with rain probable this afternoon and be back tomorrow with possibly a double for some more top-notch Redfish University action. Big week next week! Thanks again to ALL the new Redfish University clients this Spring and to ALL the regular and VIP Redfish University clients that have been so patient. Take care, E...

Redfish University is the place to be for light-tackle, artificial only redfish and speckled trout action!! The last few days of fishing at Redfish University have been excellent with great numbers of redfish and speckled trout for our anglers. Yesterday’s weather forced us to push back some guide trips back later in the week so we got to spend more time down in Destin for the Penn/Spiderwire Tour with our friends from Pure Fishing. We unveiled some new Penn products and had a very nice turnout on a very raining day down in Destin, FL. Monday and Tuesday’s afternoon Redfish University trips were very productive with Berkley Gulp! Jerkshads and the Berkley Havoc Grass pigs both taking a huge number of quality speckled trout and redfish in shallow water and wind-blown edges. Towards dust, we even produced some nice fish with the Sebile Bonga Minnow topwater baits and this trend will continue as the water temperature continues to rise. More Penn/Spiderwire promotion work throughout the week and afternoon Redfish University guide trips through Saturday. Again, a packed Spring season and thank you to all repeat and new Redfish University clients. Big year!! Take care, E...

Pensacola Fishing Charters at Redfish University. Lots of fishing and catching here at Redfish University. It’s been a HUGE Spring here at Redfish University with repeat clients and new anglers alike. So busy in fact, we’re cutting down on our weekend guiding as we can pack 5-7 Redfish University instructional and fish-catching trips into during normal business hours. This is a welcome adjustment for many reasons. We’ve had some huge swings in the weather with very cold temperatures followed by some stable, seasonal temperatures as of late. One thing has remained constant and that is great numbers of redfish and speckled trout. We’ve begun our descent into the middle and lower bays as our groups of bait and schools of mullet have followed accordingly. Finding some topwater bites now on Sebile Bongas and Stickshadds and as always, Berkley Gulp! Jerkshads will clean up the rest of both species later in the morning. Catches remain in the 25-40 count for speckled trout with some in the 20-23″ range. For the redfish, we’re finding 8-12 per outing in all sizes. Lots of really great kid anglers lately and we hope they’ve been enjoying the complimentary Yamaha hats provided from our sponsor and friends at Yamaha Outboards. Today’s report and the rest of this week’s productive Redfish University outing will follow shortly. Thanks again for an outstanding Winter and Spring season at Redfish University. E...

Pensacola Fishing Charters at Redfish University. It’s been a super four days at Redfish University with several instructional trips, double bookings on Friday and Monday and a few pure fish-catching trips in a variety of locations. The water has cleared to the north and the redfish and speckled trout have come alive with huge catches of speckled trout and solid days of 10-15 redfish in the 22-29″ range in shallow water. We’re beginning to see some topwater strikes, especially from hungry redfish, during the early morning and late afternoon hours. For the most part, Berkley Gulp! 5″ Jerkshads, Berkley Havoc Grass Pigs and Johnson 1/4oz Gold Spoons have done most the damage on most the redfish and speckled trout. A few catch and release trips and some anglers are keeping a few fish for dinner. This morning’s trip was cut very short by some rain so we rescheduled the instructional trip for next week when conditions will be better for our local anglers. Again, a tremendous Spring boom here at Redfish University with now over 50 Redfish University fishing/instructional trips from the year and going strong. We will guide tomorrow through Saturday and pickup again next week with nine trips in six days. It should be interesting and exhausting but one thing is for sure; HUGE numbers of speckled trout, redfish and bull redfish will be anxiously awaiting our anglers!! More reports soon. Take care, E...
